A Day in the Life

As dawn broke, a text alert jolted me from sleep, serving as my morning ritual.

Descending to the kitchen, stepping over passed out bodies, the remnants of last night’s weed-infused pancakes beckoned from the counter. The refrigerator, left ajar, shrouded its contents in a misty veil of condensation.

A quick shower, when the pancakes took hold.

The mundane routine of shaking off a hangover and navigating the days corridors until a fleeting moment of inspiration slipped through the grasp of my hangxiety in the confines of cold sweats.

Distracted by the lingering effects of the pancakes and a migraine, I cursed the missed opportunity to harness the flash of involuntary creativity.

A common lament, isn’t it?
