Fear God

A Complex Concept

Fear God Spectre of the Brocken: #title

Saints praise God,

Scientists challenge the notion of God,

Victims curse God,

Prisoners plea to God,

The justice system traces its roots to God.

God’s image adorns our money,

Believe in this, and God will…

Believe in that, and God won’t…

People deem God is good.

People hail God is great.

God exists within the folds of a book, crafted by millennia of a cosmic game of telephone. To truly commune with God, one must endure a hundred and fifty lifetimes within the vessel of a soul on this blue marble.

Worship your Sundays away to earn a place with God.

Yet, the divine cannot heed your calls from the comfort of your living room, they say, only within a tax-exempt palace built of marble, your marble.

Fear God and take your own part.
