Past Time

I’ve seen the sunny sides of days,
but never quite like this.
Taunting all the lil’ girls,
for just one sweet kiss.
Kicking sand through my toes,
with the sun upon my back.
Laughing at the police,
you know just where I’m at.
I’ve traveled through the valley,
I’ve traveled high and low,
I’ve touched the other side of morning,
I’ve even touched its glow.
I’ve been looking for you all around,
in the places that you hide.
You’ve been living in your sanctuary,
the place you’ll probably die.
…and don’t worry,
someday I’ll be coming home.
