The Guilty Drink: Nocturnal Confessions

guilty drink - Spectre of the Brocken

Intoxication—

a mix of hope,

 then despair—

takes me on a nocturnal journey

 through the night room.

Fueled by nefarious spirits,

I dance alone,

along the edge of night.

Tiptoeing through a trespass of self-destruction

I confess my love during these hours

to anyone who will listen.

Whispers from ancestors

“Don’t harm the name.”

I played the fool to the empty,

in search of these answers,

pouring out viciously in disregard—

third eye.

Blind.

No one gets it.

No one ever will.

All night,

the household stirs

to a guilt-laden soul.
